Aquila

Our premium Aquila parasol impresses with its high-quality canopy with a structured surface. Available in several colors, the umbrella will make your garden, terrace or balcony blossom. The excellent UV protection 80 offers carefree shade all summer long. The valance offers additional protection from lateral sunlight. This also gives the umbrella a classic design, which is loosened up by its high-quality components with "soft grip". The metal bend allows the shade area to be increased, meaning that the parasol can be used without any problems even when the sun is low.

FAQs

Here you'll find the most frequently asked questions about our products:

How can I clean my parasol?

The best way to remove loose dirt or dust is to use a soft brush. In general, you can prevent major contamination by rinsing the cover regularly. However, if serious dirt does occur, the parasol can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soapy water. To do this, use a sponge or a soft brush. You should then allow the cover to dry completely on the stretched frame. Attention, the following types of cleaning are not suitable: Use of high-pressure cleaners Wash the cover in the washing machine Abrasive or harsh cleaning agents Clean with hot water (may cause fabric to shrink)

My parasol has mildew stains, what can I do about it?

This is contamination of the parasol cover, which only forms in conjunction with organic material (pollen, bird droppings, etc.). To remove this dirt, you can brush your parasol with a soft brush, a little mild soapy water and lukewarm water. Then allow the parasol to dry completely while it is open. To prevent this issue, you should not cover a damp parasol with a protective cover. It is also advisable that an parasol that is not used regularly is opened from time to time to dry.

How do I winterize my parasol?

Always store the parasol in a dry and well-ventilated place. Only store the parasol when it is completely dry. Otherwise, mildew and mold may form. Make sure that no mice or other animals get to the parasol at the storage location.

My covering is defective, what can I do?

You can easily replace the covering of your Schneider parasol yourself. To do this, simply contact a Schneider Schirme dealer or the retailer where you purchased your parasol. Simply tell the dealer the Schneider item number (e.g. 640-77). You can find this on the sew-in label (located in the parasol ) or on your invoice/receipt. The dealer will then find out for you whether your desired cover is in stock and he can then order it directly for you.

What is meant by UV protection?

Our sun not only gives us light, warmth and comfort, but also dangerous radiation: UVA, UVB and UVC These radiations, which are dangerous for the skin, are largely absorbed by the ozone layer in the stratosphere. However, the ozone layer has become increasingly permeable over the last 20 years, which means that more and more radiation that is harmful to the skin reaches the earth. The sun protection factor indicates how many times longer you can stay outdoors without protection without getting sunburned.

Wind strength / locations exposed to wind

Our parasols have not been tested in a wind tunnel. For this reason we cannot give you precise information about the maximum wind strength. In a wind tunnel, the parasol is exposed to homogeneous currents. The wind would therefore only hit the parasol  from one side, whereas under real conditions winds affect the parasol from different directions and strengths.

The rotary plate doesn't rotate upon purchase.

To ensure a stable base for the cantilever parasol, the rotary plate was designed with a certain preload. This means that the rotary plate can only rotate when the parasol is completely assembled, including the four inserted base plates. Please check the correct assembly according to the assembly instructions of the base stand. You should verify if the screws are correctly attached. Depending on the model, the screw set consists of either four or eight screws. For models with eight screws, the long screws should be used to attach the rotary plate to the base stand, and the short screws connect the upright tube with the rotary plate. Additionally, make sure to weigh down the base stand with the necessary minimum weight using base plates. To rotate the parasol, you need to operate the foot pedal. Since the rotation of the rotary plate may initially be stiff, you can use your hand to rotate the main strut in the desired direction to assist the turning.

If you still experience issues with rotating your parasol despite considering the above points, we are always available to assist you.
